1919 Grand Café Facade
1919 Grand Café, is the former headquarters of The Hongkong and Shanghai Bank also known as HSBC in Plaza Cervantes in the Old Central Business District of Binondo. The old architectural structure of the building is still intact with the modern touch on its interior as the old building has been transformed into a huge cafe.

The building has been restored and transformed to be a more functional space that would be open to the public as soon the road repair is done. It has function rooms too, where in the guest may have their private meetings.

It's good to know that there are people who are concerned with bringing back the glory of the historical structures around Manila. Preserving those structure would mean a lot as it witness  many important events in the history. The social responsible towards progress is such an inspiring thing to do. We hope to see more of the old structure to be back into life as the future owners of these building brings back its glory and make it functional for the people of our time and the future.

There's nothing wrong with being progressive, but we should  also consider the values of the arts and structures of the past, as it reflects the way of life and the ingenuity of the people of that time and from that we could learn a lot of things towards progress.

Especially in Binondo as it is known to be the oldest China Town in the world, a lot of thing and proof that signifies our wealth, glory, richness in culture and tradition; which are all priceless. I hope that the support of the government towards preserving the heritage sites all over the country will be strong, so that the future generation may have the glimpse of the past.
